Dr. Adebisi Adebayo

Dr. Bisi Adebayo, Director of Gender and Children’s Affairs holds a Ph.D. in Population Studies from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, MSc in the same subject from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a BSc in Political Science from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. She has a sustained interest in gender and welfare of women and girls. She has carried out research on different aspects of female reproductive and sexual of health. As well as written severally on the root causes of the status of women in Africa.

She has diverse experiences from different countries both in Europe and Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, and Cote d’Ivoire) and has consulted for different International Organisations including WHO, UNAIDS, and UNEP.

Dr. Adebayo is also the Main Representative of the Inter African Committee on Practices Affecting the Health of women and Girls (IAC) at its Liaison Office here in Geneva. The Organisation is Headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with National committees in 29 African Countries and Affiliates in 13 non-African Countries.

She is passionate about improving the lives of people in Africa, especially poverty alleviation among Women and this led to her co-founding of Harambee4Africa Project group based in Geneva, Switzerland. Harambee4Africa supports humanitarian projects to better the lives of the less privileged in different parts of Africa.
